About Mission: Mahjong!
We're a Las Vegas-based group of mahjong players with a mission to foster community connection by providing a free, welcoming space for others who also want to learn and play mahjong!In partnership wtih the Las Vegas-Clark County Library District, our Sunday community program primarily teaches Chinese style mahjong, but we welcome players of other mahjong styles to sit at our open tables and share our space with us.So whether you're a beginner who wants to learn how to play, an experienced player looking join a few games, or have a group looking for a space to play, we'd love for you to join us!We meet throughout the Las Vegas Valley, with multiple meet-ups every month. Check out our events calendar to see where our next meeting will be!We also offer paid, private instruction, and private mahjong event planning, the net proceeds of which support Mission: Mahjong!’s free community programming.

Mission: Mahjong!, in partnership with the World Mahjong Tour and HyperX Arena, will be holding its very first tourney on Sunday, December 21st!The Mission: Mahjong! Tourney rule set uses an adaptation of Hong Kong-style Chinese Mahjong. It retains the core structure and strategy of traditional mahjong, but streamlines point calculations by removing faan/base point conversions, and expands point-earning opportunities that reward creativity in hand-building, while still requiring an understanding of mahjong strategy fundamentals.The result is a fast-paced and inclusive format where new and experienced players have an opportunity to compete and win.
COMPETE FOR CASH PRIZES
$350 - Grand Prize (Experienced Level)
$250 - Runner-Up (Experienced Level)
$150 - Intermediate Level 1st Place
$50 - Beginner Level 1st Place
Check-in on the day of the tourney will be from 11:00AM-11:30AM.

Want to Learn to Play Mahjong?
Community Events
We provide FREE opportunities to learn how to play mahjong every Sunday in partnership with the Las Vegas-Clark County Library District, at one of the LVCC libraries throughout the Las Vegas Valley. You can see which days and where we'll be meeting up on our events page.
Instruction on Sundays begin 15 minutes after the start of the library event. No sign-up needed, tables and sets are provided - just walk on in! If you're unable to make it in time, you're still welcome to join us and watch!
Our regular players are sometimes willing to offer informal instruction as they play. However, this is not guaranteed, so we ask that anybody who comes to watch to please be respectful of mahjong games in progress.
We also meet up at Meepleville Board Game Cafe every 2nd and 4th Friday ($3.00 admission), and continue to look for new locations to host casual, community mahjong meet-ups throughout the year.
Private Instruction
Our private instruction rates are offered to individuals and groups of up to 10 people.
Individual instruction is $90 per hour.
For groups of two or more: $90 for the first person, plus $30 per additional head
Instruction Time: 2 hoursTo book an appointment, please submit an inquiry below, and specify in the subject line: "Mahjong Private Instruction".
• Tables, sets and instructional material are provided.
• We will procure venues if needed, the rental costs of which will be billed as an additional cost.
Private Events
For groups over 10, please book a consultation to discuss the details of your event by submitting an inquiry below, and we'll be happy to provide you with a quote!Please specify in the subject line: "Mahjong Event" and the number of people you expect to have in attendance.
